Drive for Diversity Program
The Drive for Diversity program, supported by NASCAR, seeks to develop minority and female drivers and crew members. The Drive for Diversity program has seen continuous growth since its inception in 2004, and includes a Driver Development Program and a Crew Member Development Program. This program is committed to supporting and enhancing diversity in all aspects of motorsports. The program seeks to foster an environment that enables people from diverse backgrounds to participate in all levels and capacities of NASCAR. Diversity is NASCAR’s top corporate initiative and NASCAR has been instrumental in the development of the Drive for Diversity Program. Much of the success of the Drive for Diversity initiative is a result of support from key sponsors and involved team owners. Drivers and their sponsors, that are involved in this program are seen nationwide as leaders in the future of motorsports.
Macy Causey hopes to be one of these drivers accepted into this program. With only a handful of starts to her name she is already turning heads in her black #33 INEX Bandolero race car. This young driver posted a 2nd place finish at Orlando Speedworld Race Track, in her first major racing event. We expect big things this year as she is going to be competing at King George Speedway and Old Dominion Speedway. Other events will be added to her schedule as the year goes on. Macy is backed by a very experienced racing family.
Her grandmother; Diane Teel, was the 1st woman to win a NASCAR Sanctioned race in 1978 in the Limited Sportsman Division at Langley Speedway in Hampton Virginia. Diane went on to win a Championship later that year and ultimately competed in the Late Model Sportsman and Busch Grand National Divisions of NASCAR.
Her Father: Rette Causey, currently competes in the Inex Legends Racing division as a Pro Driver where he has won several races. He also competed in the WKA Karting series and won sveral races and championships as a driver. Her Mother: Dee "Teel" Causey competed in the WKA Karting series for several years with multiple wins.
Macy hopes to grow through the ranks of racing and ultimately into the realm of NASCAR. With very few female drivers in NASCAR Macy will be a young lady to watch for as she makes a name for herself in the racing community. She has an EXTREMELY competitive nature and loves a new challenges. If given the opportunity to represent NASCAR in the "DIVERSITY PROGRAM" she would represent her team and sponsors, in an honorable and humble fashion.
